SPRING FLING 2001
to the Ozark Heritage Arts Center annual Spring Fling !!!
Saturday, April 7, started out overcast and threatening rain, so several of the activities were moved indoors.
The "Sidewalk Chalk" drawing contest was converted to a "Crayon & Paper" drawing contest on the theatre stage.
"Hill-Billy Golf" was a favorite game for children, and for parents too!! Have you ever tried to "putt" with a lop-sided rock?
The "Cake Walk" also came indoors....
But the prizes still put sunshine smiles on winners faces....
The weather did cooperate long enough for a group of Spring Flingers to get outdoors and add another measure of wonder to the native Ozark scenery by having some fun doing a traditional "pioneer schoolyard" Maypole Dance.
And as with all good things, this event had to come to an end. But, not before the winners of the (mock) Sidewalk Chalk drawing contest were awarded prizes for their creative flair...
Winners, pictured above, in left-to-right and First Place, Second Place, Third Place order. Their works, in that same order, are pictured below...
