The past week the daytime temps here soared past 100-degrees(F) in the great out of doors with even the midnight hour bringing little relief while we sat in the sweet abyss of AC. Thank God for Willis Haviland Carrier, 1902 inventor of the device. But today, Saturday, July 22 -- which happens to be the 13th B'day of my youngest (pray for me, I now have 4 teens under 1 roof <grin>) -- dawned clear and cool. Also kewl (as my kids would say), with this edition of Gozarks we debut two new feature sections! Music, music, music and Best of Gozarks. By popular request and expert self-assessment <grin>, these new pages index original music by undiscovered talent, starting with a lilting melody rife with melancholia titled 'Home and Family', plus classic feature stories such Arkansas Army National Guard visits Shirley Schools and It's OUR $$$$$$$$$$: The War on Drugs which we personally believe should be a 'must read' for every thinking being in the universe. Let Freedom Ring....
So many topics, one singular theme: Liberty and Justice for All... Not just for some. Not just for a few. Not just for the wealthy or the minority or the one's with the most potent might. For all.... everyone. Each of us. Every individual man, woman and child. Liberty + Dignity + Respect = Justice It is a hand-in-glove equation grounded in 'unalienable rights.' Birthrights. Freedoms which no man, woman or government instituted by 'we the people' can deny. Thus in every instance, and especially those outlined below, we echo our patriot-forbearers: Let Freedom Ring!!!
