Welcome to gozarks portal into the past, present
and future of life as we know it... researched, observed,
intuited and empirically experienced from an isolated nook in a
semi-rural cranny of The Ozark
Mountains of Northcentral Arkansas.
As we approach
the 11th Anniversary of gozarks online debut, I look back with awe
and wonder at all that has transpired between there and here, much
of which is detailed in
For the now, it is nice to be
announcing my retirement from the world of the gainfully employed.
Thanks to my family, my own industriousness and the generosity of my
Social Security benefit, I am now the proverbial lady of leisure...
which means that instead of working around the clock, I get to take
a break now and then.
Also it means that the nature
of the things I'm working on now is somewhat different since I have
substantive freedom to do only those things that truly make sense to
me, seem to deserve doing and somehow make me feel great.
Still, this altruism is tempered by Henry Ford's wisdom... that the
only thing of substance one person can give another is
'opportunity'. Also, a lot of decades of defining the critical line
between enabling and empowering. But I digress...
point here is that gozarks, as with all things in the universe and
each of us therein, is ever-changing. This is indisputable fact.
Thus the only truly important question to answer: Is it changing for
the good? For the benefit and well-being of ALL... And if it is not,
what is my role ensuring this takes place...?
This page along with the pages
here linked mirror that predisposition.
with me and we'll chat more about stuff like this.
"That you may be filled with strength and power, rooted and
grounded in love that surpasses all knowledge: Be kind to one
another; live with compassion, producing every kind of goodness;
stand firm and hold your ground in truth, righteousness and peace;
be courageous; embrace faith which is perfect trust in justice."
~Ephesians 3-6 (condensed)
What are some of the most serious threats to our 'general
welfare'...? Here are a couple we find alarming and compelling:
Unbeknownst to most of us, sex-crime law has become
as perverse an atrocity as are the heinous and violent criminal acts
it seeks to prevent. The article referenced above (PDF link below)
exposes a deliberate abridgement of human rights.
Not only are the modalities of prevention
ineffective, and thus wasteful of taxpayer dollars, but the
dysfunctional application of punitive laws does life-quaking
harm to an astronomical number of individuals and their families who
have been unjustifiably branded with this Scarlet Letter.

Look closely at what is being done in your name under
the banner of law and order. Then contact your legislators, speak
your mind and get involved with groups like those listed above. ~~~
The Drug War is a pox upon
civilization and poses an indefatigable threat to life as we know it:
"The US is missing the real danger,"
Inmate9, author of
HOAX, asserts. "It's not just al-Qa'ida. It's drug-cop
corruption, moral bankruptcy and the drug-lord Cartels. With their
vast wealth and contacts and the violence and destabilization they
are bringing across our southern border, in the interest of national
defense the war on drugs must end."
It's NOT too late to send Legislators a Valentine
Or, if you've looked into the abomination of
our legal system described at left, you might send
your legislator a book...
As America blindly wages war on 'crime', too many people -- good men
and their families -- are being condemned to brutal and
unjustifiable life-long consequences for acts of intimacy which were
If you find this hard to believe,
Consensual Consequences is the
story of one family's life as they cope with the social
branding, undeserved stigma, fear of vigilantism and the outrageous
expense imposed upon all of them by bigotry, prejudice, ignorance,
morality-run-amok and fear-mongering as they simultaneously battle a 'legal system' that endlessly punishes
