NOVEMBER 27th Volunteers Meeting.
Mainly, the conversation revolved around pledge drive
strategy... what works and what is needed to be more effective.
Among these was the request for a 'pledge drive promo kit' with
'talking points' that DJs can use to emphasize the value of
making a donation to KABF.
Also discussed was a
'wish list' of hoped for and envisioned station improvements, the
eager willingness of the volunteers to 'do' improvement projects that
are approved and coordinated by the KABF Board of Directors and KABF
Program Director John Cain in association with other key station
management personnel including Engineering, and the critical
importance of 'everyone being on the same page'.
It was decided that monthly KABF Volunteers 'update' meetings would
continue (for now) to be held on the same date, at the same location
and one hour preceding regular KABF BoD meetings.
It was also decided that it would be good to have quarterly Volunteers
'planning & training' meetings, and the first one was scheduled for
Saturday, January 12, 2013....
Arrangements for a public meeting room are being made and I will let
you know as soon as location and time are confirmed. In the interim,
please reserve this date for KABF...!!!
Also it was noted that these quarterly meetings *should* be thought of
as *mandatory* for all who are (or wish to be) involved with volunteer
broadcast operations at KABF, and it was emphasized that for a long
time this was an established KABF policy. <smile>
Anyway, thanks to all of you who joined in... and thanks to Dotty for
the DELICIOUS PIZZA...!!!! Great food and fantastic conviviality....
