UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL
~ OLA MEMBERSHIP MEETING ~
Hear ye, hear ye!
Be it
now proclaimed:
THE GENERAL BUSINESS MEETING OF THE OZARK LIBERTY
ALLIANCE (OLA) convened August 23, 2003, at the City Park Pavilion, Main
St. & U.S. 65, Clinton, Arkansas.
I. CALL TO ORDER at 12:11pm, Allan Hampton, Tony
Hampton, Daniel
Weiss, Christine Weiss, Wesley Jones, Adam Weiss, Shalom Weiss and Robert
Reed, present. Lula Holeman, Larry Williams, Alice Chambers, Charlie Smith, Karen LaFargue
and Don Richardson conferred regrets.
II. THE AGENDA WAS AMENDED TO INCLUDE ALL ITEMS OF BUSINESS AS SPECIFIED,
BELOW.
III. BRIEF REVIEW: A summary of OLA activities, since inception,
recounted by Christine Weiss and Robert Reed.
IIIa. REPORT ON PECULIARITIES OF LIQUOR LICENSING PRACTICES IN VAN BUREN
AND OTHER COUNTIES which effectively permit "prohibition-type"
organizations to hold possession of such state issued licenses while at
the same time having no intention of utilizing same for its legal purpose
as a means of precluding others from being granted such license by the
State, presented by Robert Reed.
IIIb. DISCUSSION ADDRESSING THE INAPPROPRIATE USE
OF PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION AS A MEANS OF ENFORCED (CHEMICAL) BEHAVIOR
MODIFICATION AMONG SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN IN VIOLATION OF CONSTITUTIONALLY
GUARANTEED LIBERTIES, presented by Tony Hampton.
IV. REGARDING ALL THE ABOVE, IT WAS UNANIMOUSLY
AFFIRMED THAT “EDUCATION” ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES, POWERS AND DUTIES OF
CITIZENSHIP, INCLUDING AN ALERT AND WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRINCIPLES OF
SELF-GOVERNANCE AS ARTICULATED IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITES STATES OF
AMERICA, IS THE “SOLUTION” TO MANY IF NOT ALL OF THE EGREGIOUS INJUSTICES
WHICH HAVE BEEN INSTITUTED AS “LAW” BUT WHICH ARE IN FACT CONTRARY TO THE
CONDUCT PRESCRIBED BY THE CONSTITUTION ITSELF. IN LIGHT OF THIS ACCORD,
THE FOLLOWING EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES ARE ENDORSED AS APPROPRIATE FOR OLA
PARTICIPATION AND SUPPORT:
- OLA shall provide communications networking,
etc. in support of the 2nd Annual Liberty & Justice Festival, being
sponsored by the
VBC Greens, to be held Saturday, May 1, 2004, in
Leslie, Arkansas and shall also sponsor during that event a
“Constitutional Quiz” public forum, to be developed from materials
presented during this meeting by Allan Hampton.
- OLA shall, if requested to do so, provide
networking support to the Arkansas Legislative Black Caucus in the
interest of promoting any local “Presidential Candidate” townhall
meetings which the Caucus may wish to schedule for this area.
V. CONVERSATION ABOUT “ELECTION OF OFFICERS” AND/OR
“AMENDMENT OF OLA CONSTITUTION” WAS TABLED.
VI. THE DATE, TIME AND PLACE OF THE NEXT OLA
MEETING WILL BE DETERMINED BY EMAIL POLL OF THE STEERING COMMITTEE.
VII. ALL ITEMS OF BUSINESS DENOTED ABOVE WERE
FORWARDED AS MOTIONS, ENDORSED BY A 2nd, AND ADOPTED UNANIMOUSLY, AS WAS
THE CALL TO ADJOURN AT 1:45pm.
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, August 26, 2003
