The Van Buren County Historical Society Museum is located at the corner of Third and Poplar Streets in Clinton, Arkansas. The Museum is open to the public free of charge.

For winter we are only open Monday - Thursday 10am until 4pm. We plan to be open of Fridays again starting March 1st.

The Museum's Family History Room has an extensive collection of family information and family group sheets, as well as research material on Van Buren County and several surrounding counties. 

The Museum always welcomes copies of Van Buren County Family Histories and local information to add to the existing files. The Historical Society's collection of vintage photos number over 1,000. Reprints are available. Your ancestors may be included!

The Museum is supported primarily by voluntary donations, membership dues and the sale of its publications.

Membership in the Van Buren County Historical Society is $12.50 per year.

Members receive four (4)  Van Buren County Historical Journals, which are published quarterly.

Back issues of the Historical Journal are available for $3.00 each plus $1.00 shipping and handling.

A variety of additional publications are available at the Museum, or by mail order. To order a publication or become a member by mail, send your request (including the name of the specific publication) and include a check or money order for the total amount (including Shipping & Handling). About these two books: Two ladies from Indiana read microfilm and produced these books then donated the information to the Historical Society with permission to use the books as a fund-raiser.  Their only request was that one-half of the proceeds go to the upkeep of the Brickey Cemetery. The cemetery has recently been restored and descendants of the folks who are buried there are trying to create a fund for perpetual care.

Vol. 8 in our series of "Yesteryear in Van Buren County" historical calendars, is now available.  As in the past, the 2004 edition of this popular calendar offers twelve vintage photos of various people and places of Van Buren County in the late 1800s and early 1900s, as well as a couple of more modern photos with tidbits of history thrown in to enlighten everyone about the heritage of our great county. Printed on buff-colored, parchment-like paper preserving the antique look of the photos.  Excellent for framing.
