PRAYER REQUEST
This is a prayer request from the Chaplain of the 57th Tranport
Battalion who grew up in the First Baptist Church of Orlando. This
Battalion's responsibility is to see that the voting equipment is
distributed throughout Iraq for the upcoming election. These men/women
need our prayers and support.
As a transportation battalion, my unit
will be delivering the voting machines and the ballots to villages and
cities throughout Iraq during the upcoming elections. (January 30/31)
Our convoys are prime targets for the insurgents because they do not
want the equipment to arrive at the polling stations nor do they want
the local Iraqi citizens to have the chance to vote; timely delivery
must occur so that the elections occur. Encourage your friends and
family members and those within our churches to pray specifically for
the electoral process. Historically, the previous totalitarian regime
would not allow individual citizens to vote. Democracy will not be
realized in Iraq if intelligent and competent officials are not elected
to those strategic leadership positions within the emerging government;
freedom will not have an opportunity to ring throughout this
country if the voting process fails. Announce this prayer request to
your contacts throughout your churches, neighborhoods, and places of
business.
Those with leadership roles within the
local church post this message in as many newsletters and bulletins as
possible. There is unlimited potential for God's presence in this
process but if we do not pray then our enemy will prevail (See Ephesians
6:10- 17) A prayer vigil prior to the end of the month may be an
innovative opportunity for those within your sphere of influence to
pray. This is a political battle that needs spiritual intervention. A
powerful story about God's intervention in the lives of David's mighty
men is recorded in 2 Samuel 23:8-33. David and his warriors were
victorious because of God's intervention. We want to overcome those who
would stand in the way of freedom. David's mighty men triumphed over
incredible odds and stood their ground and were victorious over the
enemies of Israel. (Iraqi insurgents' vs God's praying people). They
don't stand a chance.
I will pray with my soldiers before they
leave on their convoys and move outside our installation gates here at
Tallil. My soldiers are at the nerve center of the logistic operation to
deliver the voting machines and election ballots. They will be driving
to and entering the arena of the enemy. This is not a game for them it
is a historical mission that is extremely dangerous. No voting machines
or ballots. No elections. Your prayer support and God's intervention are
needed to give democracy a chance in this war torn country. Thank you
for reading this e-mail. Please give this e-mail a wide dissemination.
Thank you for your prayer support for me
and my family.Stand firm in your battles. Blessings, Lyle CH (CPT) Lyle

I have a nephew (Trevor Wiley Jones from
Pembroke, North Carolina) that is 19 years old. He had a brain tumor
when he was 9 years old and had surgery and radiation and has been
cancer free for almost 10 years. He was recently diagnosed with another
brain tumor. This one is more aggressive. He starts radiation next
Thursday, April 22. This particular tumor is close to the optic nerve
and the brain stem and the radiation could cause him to go blind and/or
the radiation could damage the brain stem (which eventually would kill
him). Please pray that God will intervene and make this wonderful
young man well and whole again. Pray for his family that they may have
strength and grow stronger toward Christ. Thanks for your prayers.

I have a 14 year old daughter who
started to skip school, defy all household rules, and now she has run
away. I have tried many many agencies (as well as the local police) to
help me. I am not getting much help due to the fact she is not in any
legal trouble (yet) and/or is not a danger to herself (says who???) or
others. The more I try to "take control" the more she defies me. I am
asking that you pray for me and ask for strength and guidance so that I
may handle this right. PLEASE pray for the safety of my daughter and
above all that we get through this, together, stronger and renewed so
that we may both live our life as we were meant to.
Thank you.

My name is Earl, I live in Kentucky. My
wife, Debbie filed for divorce, on Monday March, 10th. I love her
dearly. We are both Christians. I come asking for prayer that God will
intervene, doing whatever is necessary to stop this divorce, bring
Debbie back home, and heal our marriage.
I further ask for Prayer that God will clearly make it known to Debbie
what his will is regarding marriage, divorce, and vows.
Thank you and God bless you

For those who
unexpectedly passed away. Perhaps they had no chance to let their love
ones know what they wanted disclose. Pray for resolve that their love
ones will know.
It is the yearning heart and the soul that grieves fulfillment. Pray
that it will be found, for without it is duality deceit and illusion.
Let it be given as the will of the Lord.
So it be within the heart and the soul as Jesus said, "The kingdom of
God does not come by observation. Neither will they say "Behold, it is
here or, behold, it is there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within
you." [Luke 17:20-21], He also said, "seek first the kingdom of God and
his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." [Matt
6:33]
Jesus rose from the dead as those who Rose from suffering. Pray for
complete end to all suffering and that the kingdom come on earth as it
is in heaven. With this completion will the most beautiful experience
reveal itself. Its' universal ordinance will be in every: thought and
emotion, heart and soul, body and spirit. Let this prayer reach beyond
the center of our world, until the end.

Heartprints
Whatever our hands touch...
We leave fingerprints.
On walls, on furniture,
On door knobs, dishes and books.
Smudges, showing we were there!
Oh Lord, please,
Wherever I go today...
Help me leave Heartprints...
Heartprints of compassion,
Understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness
And genuine concern.
I shall go out today...
To leave Heartprints...
And if some one should say...
"I felt your touch!"
May that one feeling be...
Your loving touch, Lord,
Through me!
May my heart touch
my lonely neighbor, with a smile,
a worried mother, with peace,
a runaway child, with safety,
a homeless person, with warmth,
and my dear friends, with love.

This special "Thank God for Children Saying
Grace" was passed along to us via a Starr:
Last week I took my children to a restaurant. My
six-year-old son asked if he could say grace. As we bowed our heads he
said, "God is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would
even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty
and justice for all! Amen!"
Along with the laughter from the other customers
nearby I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country.
Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice-cream! Why, I
never!"
Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked
me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"
As I held him and assured him that he had done a
terrific job and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman
approached the table. He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know
that God thought that was a great prayer." "Really?" my son asked.
"Cross my heart," the man replied. Then in a theatrical whisper he added
(indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too
bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the
soul sometimes."
Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end
of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment and then did something I
will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and without a
word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile
he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul
sometimes; and my soul is good already."

How much does a prayer weigh?
Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look
of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the
owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her
charge a few groceries. She softly explained that her husband was very
ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.
John Longhouse, the grocer scoffed at her and requested that she leave
his store. Visualizing the family needs, she said: 'Please, sir! I will
bring you the money just as soon as I can." John told her he could not
give her credit, as she did not have a charge account at his store.
Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the
conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the
grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.
The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?
Louise replied, "Yes sir." "O.K." he said, "put your grocery list on the
scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that
amount in groceries."
Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her
purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She
then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still
bowed. The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the
scales went down and stayed down. The grocer, staring at the scales,
turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe
it." The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on
the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued
to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no
more.
The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece
of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement. It was
not a grocery list, it was a prayer which said: "Dear Lord, you know my
Needs and I am leaving this in your hands".
The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in
stunned silence. Louise thanked him and left the store. The customer
handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said, "It was worth every
penny of it."
Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs.

Dear God,
We know you are really busy
these days, so we promise not to take up too much of your time.
But if you could take a moment
to listen, we’d greatly appreciate it.
You see, Mary Lou Lee and Judy
Duncan in Van Buren County, Arkansas are the most wonderful ladies you
sent to us, (I’m sure you know where Van Buren County is). They started
a program, “Wishing Well for Paws”, it’s a non-profit organization. We
think they’re angels.
We know we are supposed to teach
children the value of unconditional love and responsibility, but it’s
hard if we’re not given the chance.
We’re not asking for a lot, just
a shelter and horse rescue facility that would provide a place for us to
live, food, and education for those in need of learning the simplicities
of animal husbandry. The neutering program that they started helps us
so that we don’t over populate and our children don’t starve. It’s a
big job.
Please send other angels to help
them, we don’t want them to get discouraged and it’s a lot of work.
Oh, and God, one more thing,
thanks for listening.
With love

A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather
that morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her
daily trek to the elementary school.
As the afternoon progressed, the
winds whipped up, along with thunder and lightning.
The mother of the little girl felt
concerned that her daughter would be frightened as she walked home from
school and she herself feared that the electrical storm might harm her
child.
Following the roar of thunder,
lightning, like a flaming sword, would cut through the sky. Full
of concern, the mother quickly got into her car and drove along the
route to her child's school. As she did so, she saw her little girl
walking along, but at each flash of lightning, the child would stop,
look up and smile.
Another and another were to follow
quickly and with each the little girl would look at the streak of light
and smile.
When the mother's car drew up
beside the child she lowered the window and called to her, "What
are you doing? Why do you keep stopping?"
The child answered, "I am
trying to look pretty, God keeps taking my picture."
May God bless you today as you
face the storms that come your way.
And don't forget to SMILE!
August 16 -- A lady had
recently been baptized. One of her co-workers asked her what it was like
to be a Christian. She was caught off guard and didn't know how to
answer; but when she looked up, saw a jack-o-lantern on the desk and
answered: "It's like being a pumpkin."
The co-worker asked her to explain that one. "Well, God picks you
from the patch and brings
you in and washes off all the dirt on the outside that you got from
being around all the other
pumpkins.
Then he cuts off the top and
takes all the yucky stuff out from inside. He removes all those seeds of
doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then he carves you a new smiling
face and puts his light
inside of you to shine for all to see.
It
is our choice to either stay outside and rot on the vine or come inside
and be something new and bright."
-- I'll never look at a
pumpkin the same way again!!

the Lord is gracious (good)." I Peter 2:3

August 9 -- The
following comes to us from from Tonia:
There once was a Shakespearean actor who was known
everywhere for his one-man shows of readings and recitations from
the classics. He would always end his performance with a
reading of Psalm 23.
Each night, without exception, as the actor began
his recitation "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not
want"... the crowd would listen attentively. And then,
at the conclusion of the psalm, they would rise in thunderous
applause in appreciation of the actor's incredible ability to bring the
verse to life.
But one night, just before the actor was to offer
his customary recital of Psalm 23, an aged missionary from the
audience spoke up. "Sir, do you mind if tonight I recite
Psalm 23"?
The actor was quite taken aback by this unusual
request, but he allowed the old man to come forward and stand front and
center on the stage to recite the Psalm, knowing that the ability
of this unskilled missionary would be no match for his own talent.
With a soft voice, the man began to recite the
words of the Psalm. When he was finished, there was no applause.
There was no standing ovation as on other nights. All that
could be heard was the sound of weeping. The audience had
been so moved by the missionary's recitation that every eye was
full of tears.
Amazed by what he had heard, the actor said to the
man, "I don't understand. I have been performing Psalm 23 for
years. I have a lifetime of experience and training-but I
have never been able to move an audience as you have tonight.
Tell me, what is your secret?"
The old man quietly replied, "Well sir, you
know the Psalm. I know the Shepherd."

When I went to the mailbox this

was flying around and around me. I just stood there for about five
minutes ... then I retrieved the mail which was a photography mag and
note from a friend who (you guessed it!!) just happens to be an avid
amateur photog ... Aha, I'm supposed to take this critter's
picture ... went back into the house to get the digicam and she was
waiting for me when I got back outside :-). So, I went ahead and put it
on my hard drive ... about an hour later, I stopped at a

-- The following is based
on an email from Tonia containing a poem attributed to
Ennio Escalante...
IT'S REALLY JUST GOD:
Do you ever all of a sudden feel like doing
something nice for someone, well... IT'S REALLY JUST GOD
whispering to the Holy Spirit in you.
Have
you ever been feeling empty, unable to satisfy a need... well, IT'S
REALLY JUST GOD wanting to hear from you.
Have
you ever been thinking about somebody you haven't seen in a long time
and then suddenly somehow you see or hear from them, well... IT'S
REALLY JUST GOD saying hello to both of you.
Have
you ever received something wonderful that you didn't actually ask for
-- a hug, a smile, a ride, a letter, a dollar, a coupon, a shirt, a
fishing pole, a slice of cake -- and it turned out to be one of the
neatest experiences ever, well... IT'S REALLY JUST GOD satisfying
the desires of your heart.
Have
you ever been in a situation and you had no clue how to get
through it but now, looking back, you are amazed at how well everything
worked out, well... IT'S REALLY JUST GOD guiding your way
from tribulation to grace by faith.
Have
you ever read something, like this little note, and thought it was
interesting, cute perhaps, but that it had little or nothing to do with
you, well...IT'S REALLY JUST GOD, showering love on you.

December 31 -- Maybe
I have waited too long for this posting to be effective, but the more
time that passed the more I feel a need for my property. This is the
story.
In September, first Tuesday I think, I attended a
meeting at First Baptist Church in Clinton. Afterward a reception for
the speaker was held in the basement kitchen. I remember leaving the
reception with my Bible and a small, blue, loose-leaf notebook in my
hand. However, when I reached home, they were not with me.
My best guess is that I laid them on top of my car
while unlocking the door, then got in the car and drove off without
retrieving them. But, later that day my husband drove the route that I
took, then together we drove it again, and found nothing - not even
strewn paper.
After leaving the church, I made one more stop at
Save-U-More grocery store. There the car was left unlocked and, if the
Bible was in the car, it would have been in plain sight on the front
seat. I cannot believe someone would steal a Bible, and certainly not
the notebook, but I am told, stranger things have happened.
The Bible, a Thompson Chain Reference, NIV, had
many notes and notations within its pages, and possibly a copy of How to
Pray For Your Loveld Ones tucked inside.
The notebook, contained many personal, but not
necessarily private, notes and messages.
I am not sure either had my name, address or phone
number, since all have changed since purchasing the items.
My first thought was that if someone wanted them
badly enough to keep them, then they need them worse than I. But, now
that I consider the fact that they may not know where, or how to return
them, I feel I should make an effort to get the word out.
If you have information on these items, please
contact <arearep@artelco.com>. I can offer no reward, other than
my prayers for you.

help me see that my Worth is always present. Please
help me see that Worth is Who I am and what You have given me.
Please remind me of my Worth of love, happiness, and

put me in touch with the Worth at the very center of my being.
Please show me Worth is who I am.

Arizona, is seeking to locate her mother, Henrietta "Henri"
Baker who was last known to be living in or near Van Buren County and
keeping company with William "Buddy" Smith. Gloria lost touch
with her mom over two years ago. She wrote: "I really miss my
mother and she has two grandchildren growing up without knowing her. I
wish I would of been better at keeping tabs with her, but as many, I too
am guilty of being a slave to time and life in general. I don't know
what else to do. I don't know where to start. She was always very
private and our relationship was always so fragile. The last letter I
received from her was from Clinton. Last I knew she was going to
move up in the mountains more with her boyfriend who bought an old
cabin. I miss her dearly but at the same time do not want to hunt her
down if she does not wish to be found. If you get any good ideas,
or leads I would appreciate it. Thank you so much, Gloria Keller."
